.: Shon :.Shon first acquired his passion for fire performance in 2002, while earning his degree in Psychology from the University of Washington. He came across a group of students practicing in Red Square who were nice enough to show him how to make a set of practice poi and teach him a few moves; he was hooked. A few months later he began performing around the Seattle area and was soon spotted and recruited by Pyrosutra to perform in their annual appearance at The Bite of Seattle, he has been with the group ever since. Since his first performances Shon has learned to use several new tools including: Stave, Double-Staves, Chinese Meteor, Fire-eating, Fire-wings, Fans, Fire-hoop, Fire-nunchuks, and Stilts. Outside of fire dancing Shon works in the IT department of a fast paced dot-com in the Seattle area. In his "spare" time he enjoys rock climbing, skydiving, scuba diving, and traveling. shon@pyrosutra.com |
